Celebrate! Summer is coming quickly. As the days warm and become
longer, vacation time is creeping up. Advertisers begin sending images of
people playing in the water, families camping in the wild, and summer backyard
parties. If you want to join the festivities during the long, hot days, it is
time to begin planning now. Here are some things to remember when you go on
vacation.
1. Map Your Trip
If you want a successful trip, make sure you know where you are
going and when you will get there. Arrange hotel rooms well in
advance of your arrival, and if you are going overseas, know if your bank does
business in the cities you will be staying in.
2. Plan Your Medical
No matter where you are headed on your holiday adventures, make
sure you have all your medical information available in case of an accident.
Have copies of your medical insurance numbers and consider purchasing type 1 diabetic ID bracelets or necklaces
for those that are ill.
3. Visit Your Mechanic
Before you take your car on the road for vacation, take
your vehicle into the mechanic for a checkup. Having the brakes, tires,
fluids, and electronics of your auto checked will help ensure you have a safe
trip the whole way.
4. Locate Your Navigator
Don’t travel on your own – find a navigator to make the
adventure more exciting. Having a friend to talk to as you wander will make the
trip more enjoyable, memorable, and filled with laughter. Another bonus to
having a companion is that if your wallet or purse gets taken, you will have
someone to help you get back home.
Planning a vacation
can be exciting, but don’t forget to take care of the four items above. If you
map your trip, visit a mechanic, and travel with a friend, your vacation can be
a great one.
